Illinois State Police confirm the State Crimes Scene Investigations Unit and the Division of Criminal Investigations Zone 8 are investigating the death of a 27-year-old female found deceased on Saturday in a residence in the 300 block of South Broadway in Central City. The short news release indicates that, to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation, no additional information will be released at the present time.
Central City Police Chief Jamie Ramsey earlier said he asked for the state DCI to handle the investigation when the woman was discovered deceased in the apartment around seven Saturday morning.
The woman’s name has not been released.
