The East St Louis Flyers soar into the 3a final four today with a showdown against Chicago Leo. The Flyers have been ranked at the top of 3a all season and come in with a 31-4 record and battle tested. Coach mark Chamber is in his 9th year with a great record of 190-78 and are making their 13th trip to state, their last appearance being in 2023 where they finished 3rd. The program is looking to add to its 1 state championship in 2019.
The Leo Lions are 27-6 out of the Chicago Catholic Conference and beat Hyde Park to advance to Champaign. Coach Jimalle Ridley is in his 8th year and the team is making its 6th trip down state, the last being in 2016. They won their only state title in 2004. Game time at 11:45.
The first game at 10 is undefeated Kaneland at 35-0 taking on 24-11 Deerfield.
In the 4a Final Four at 2:30 Marist at 31-5 takes on 32-4 York followed by 35-1 Benet Academy playing 32-3 DePaul College Prep in a heavyweight showdown.
