Marion County Clerk Steve Fox has announced an emergency temporary polling place for those who normally vote at the Marion County Exhibit Building.
Due to a conflict, voters in Salem precincts 1, 2, 5, and 8 will now vote at the First Christian Church Gym at 1200 West Boone in Salem for the primary election next Tuesday, March 17th.
The Marion County Clerkâs Office received confirmation on Wednesday, March 11th, that the exhibit building at the fairgrounds would be occupied by the Professional Kennel Club LLC (PKC) on election day. Other facilities at the fairgrounds were unable to meet polling-place accessibility requirements and other election laws. The decision was made to move the four precincts into compliance with state and federal election laws.
All registered voters in Salem precincts 1, 2, 5, and 8 are asked to proceed to the First Christian Church on Tuesday, March 17th, with voting beginning at 6 am and ending at 7 pm.
All other polling places are the same as in the last election.
