Centralia has a new part-time firefighter.
Brandon Beaver was sworn in by Centralia City Clerk Kim Enke during a ceremony at city hall Thursday afternoon.
Beaver is a 2014 graduate of Centralia High School and 2017 graduate of Murray State with an agriculture business degree. He is also an EMT.
“I like that nothing’s ever the same, you don’t do the same thing every day,” Beaver said. “I got on the volunteer fire department, and I’ve been there a year and a half. Through that, I’ve gotten my basic operation firefighter, my hazmat, my FSVO, and advanced firefighter certifications.”
Beaver is next on the list to be hired as a fulltime firefighter when there is an opening.
