The IHSA State Girls Final Fours started yesterday at the CEFCU Arena in Normal.
The Breese Central Lady Cougars punched their ticket to tonight’s state title game with a 48-40 win over Pleasant Plains. Taylor Trame scored 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Lady Cougars. Lexy Santel finished with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Breese will take on Byron in the 6:30 state title game after their 49-43 win over St Edward.
The 3rd place game was played last night with Pleasant Plains beating St Edwards 53-33.
The 1a state finals are set as Mt Pulaski and Deer Creek-Mackinaw each won their semifinal games. Mt Pulaski beat Brown County 47-40 and Deer Creek defeated Rockford Christian 48-35. The 3rd place game last night saw Brown County beat Rockford Christian 59-47.
The IHSA 3a/4a girls basketball final four starts today.
At 10am in 3a, Glenwood takes on Trinity followed by Washington and St Viator at 11:45.
The 4a semifinals start at 2:30 with Belleville East taking on Nazareth Academy followed by Rolling Meadows and Loyola at 4:15.
