Centralia Police are investigating the alleged sexual assault of a two year old girl.
The girl’s mother took her to Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon for treatment on Monday where a sexual assault kit was completed.
Police report indicate since that time the mother has been uncooperative with the investigation so few details about the incident including when and where it occurred are unclear.
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is also assisting.
