In 2a, Breese Central slayed the giant as they beat Nashville for the first time in 3 tries this season, winning the Chester Sectional 58-48. Nashville was the defending state champion and Breese improves to 29-3 with the win. They advance to the Benton Super Sectional on Monday where they will play Teutopolis.
The Shoes came back from an early deficit to win the Olney Sectional over Paris 40-30.
In 1a, Mt Pulaski knocked off Cumberland 37-36 at Argenta. Bluffs beat Okawville at Bunker Hill 61-58. Brownstown/St Elmo’s season came to an end falling to Edwards County in the title game at Wayne City 50-44.
On Monday, Edwards County will take on Mt Pulaski at Arcola.
Belleville East’s season continues as they won the Richwoods Sectional beating the hosts 58-48. East advances to play Homewood Flossmoor on Monday at Illinois Wesleyan University for a trip to the State Final Four.
