Mt Vernon overcame a halftime deficit to pull away and beat Carbondale 51-32 to advance to the Centralia 3a regional finals. They will get their 4th shot at Centralia on Friday, having lost the previously 3 meetings.
The finals are set from Mascoutah. East St Louis had no problems with a 84-32 win over Waterloo. Alex Johnson had 21 to lead the Flyers. They will play Marion who beat Mascoutah 81-55. Makhi House had 40 in the win for the Wildcats.
At Jerseyville, Jacksonville beat the hosts 68-39 and Civic Memorial upset Mattoon 51-46.
At Triad, the host Knights beat highland 46-28 and Glenwood over Taylorville 52-31.
