The Centralia Orphans win their final game in the regular season Friday night with a 63 to 42 victory at Carbondale. Sophomore Kenny Bratton led the Orphans with a career high of 25 points. Archie Goewey was also in double figures with 18.
Centralia jumped out to an 11-6 first-quarter lead and led 24 to 16 at halftime. The win was the 29th of the year for the Orphans, who have just one loss entering postseason play. The Orphans win the South Seven with a perfect 8-0 conference record.
Centralia opens postseason play in the regional semi-final at home on Tuesday night at seven against Cahokia.
A reminder that registered Season Ticket Holders will have the first opportunity to purchase reserved seats on a first-come, first-served basis in the CHS Athletic Office at 5:00 pm on Sunday. All tickets will be $8 cash.
