The Centralia Police Department has sworn in a new officer.
Jordan Claar is coming to the Centralia Police Department from the Wamac Police Department. He has two years of full-time and 18 months of part-time experience.
Centralia Police Chief Chris Locke says Claar is a graduate of the Southwestern Illinois College Police Academy and has performed a number of roles at the Wamac Police Department including patrol officer, sergeant, and field training officer. He has been trained in basic patrol rifle, SWAT, and is also a taser instructor. Jordan has participated in the Centralia Police Department’s Shop with a Cop program for a number of years and coming from a neighboring agency has worked with Centralia Police officers frequently.
Claar will begin 12 weeks of field training prior to being released to solo patrol.
Locke says Claar will be a welcome addition to the Centralia Police Department and the community.
