The Salem Lady Wildcats honored their four seniors and then went on to rout visiting East Alton Wood River 67-25 with a running clock wrapping up the regular season at 18-12 and also putting a bow on their time in the Cahokia Conference as Salem makes the move to the River to River next year. The Seniors were on display as Jordan Kessler scored 18, Marah Johnson added 9, Kale Benjamin 4 and Hannah Smith added 2.
Then it was the younger wave’s time to show what they can do as sophomore Kinley Eagan had a great game scoring 16 off the bench and Katee Sellers added 11. Salem will now prepare for Monday’s regional opener at Mt Carmel when they play Fairfield.
Harrisburg beat Mt Vernon 55-35. Mt Vernon finishes the regular season at 13-16 and will play at Centralia Monday night in the opening round of their 3a regional. Jerica Newell led Mt Vernon with 22.
