The Salem Wildcats saw a 35-31 halftime lead at home to DuQuoin evaporate as they dropped to 12-14 on the season with a 61-52 loss. Salem was led by junior Avery Gullion with 19, senior Ryegan Warren added 10, Kaeden Bevolo hit a trio of three pointers for his 9 points. Payton Gullion added 7, Logan Butts 4 and Luke Boldt 3. Amir Grant led the Indians with 22. Layton Hawkins added 13 and Jeremiah Jones finished with 10.

 

Before the game, Salem senior Jordan Kessler was honored for surpassing 1000 points and moving into the top 10 all time in girls scoring surpassing her mom and coach in the process.

 

Salem returns to action on the road Tuesday at Mater Dei.  The freshmen will play tonight at home against Olney.

 

The Salem JV earned a 73-49 victory. Luke Boldt had 20 to lead the way, Owen Tennyson added 12 and 8 each from Ryan Jones and Silus Lux.
