The Mt Vernon Rams bowling team made a remarkable comeback to finish 3rd at this weekend’s IHSA State Bowling finals held at St Clair Bowl in O’Fallon. The Rams edged out Breese Central by less than 10 pins to make the final round in 12th place on Friday. Saturday, after the first two games, the Rams found themselves all the way up in 4th and with a chance. They battled all day and came away with a well-deserved 3rd place finish. Hononegah won the team title with Lockport Township 2nd ahead of the Rams. Waterloo was 4th with last year’s champion Harrisburg finishing 7th and Alton 12th.
Ian Scharre of Hononegah was the individual champion with Weston Sadler of Morton 2nd. Matthew Eller of Waterloo was 6, Raymond Andrews of Mt Vernon 9, Dalton Wheeler of Harrisburg 10, Cameron Shufelt of Waterloo 17.
