Road conditions continue to improve on Tuesday, but you may still find some scattered slippery spots on major roads. Secondary roads in the city and rural roads are all passable, but many remain snow packed slick and hazardous with caution needed.
For the second night in a row, Salem set a new record low. The temperature reached seven below zero shortly after seven Monday morning, breaking the low of minus three set back in 1963. The Sunday low of -5 below zero beat the record 2 below zero that was set in 1978.
