The Franklin Park boys and girls track and field teams are regional champions after yesterday’s meet held at SCHS. The boys finished with 168 points which edged Centralia’s 148 and Olney 3rd with 115. The top 3 in each event are invited to the Meet of Champions held at SCHS on Saturday that is being held since the State Meet has been canceled by the SIJHSAA.
Angel Salgado was 3rd in the 7th grade 100, Salem was 1-2 in the 800 with Caidien Beer and Robbie Shober who also went 1-2 in the same order in the mile. Canden Patton was 2nd in the 100 hurdles. Salem’s 4×100 relay advanced 3rd, the 4×200 team was first, the 7th grade 4×200 team was 2nd and the 4×400 team was 3rd.

The Lady Bobcats dominated the field with 176.5 points followed by Olney with 119.5 and then Centralia with 86.
Addison Bullard won the 7th grade 100, Kendall Collier 3rd in the 8th grade race, Fin Puricelli and Bullard were 1-2 in the 200, Puricelli 3rd in the 400, Aila Laird 2nd in the 800 and the mile, Bullard won the hurdles, Kylie Engel 3rd in the shot, she was 2nd to Lilly Blagoue in the discus, Purcelli and Kylee Garrison were 2-3 in the high jump, Bandy won the pole vault with Collier 3rd in the long jump. Also the 4×100 relay team was 1st, 4×200 was 3rd and 4×400 was 2nd holding off Fairfield at the tape by 2 hundredths of a second.
