Two Centralia residents were arrested on multiple felony counts after allegedly fighting with police following a Friday night traffic stop in Wamac. Three Centralia Police officers aided the Wamac officer in eventually taking the two into custody.
Wamac Police say the driver, 52-year-old Alice Willis of South Hickory Street, was arrested for felony resisting arrest, aggravated battery to a police officer and DUI. Willis is accused of cutting the finger of a Wamac Police officer in the altercation resulting in the felony resisting arrest charge.
The passenger, 46-year-old Jeramie Wallace of the same address, was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a weapon by a felon, criminal damage to state supported property, aggravated battery to a police officer, and failure to comply. Wallace allegedly had a large knife hidden in the car and damaged the back door of a squad car by kicking it and bending the frame.
The two were both taken to the Marion County Jail and later released on a notice to appear in court.
