Wildcats Fall To Breese Central…Prep Basketball Scores From Friday

The Salem Wildcats fell at home to Breese Central in Cahokia play last night 64-40.  Breese took a commanding 23-10 lead at the halftime break, and although Salem found some offense in the 2^nd half, Breese was too good down the stretch.  The Cats got 12 points each from Avery Gullion and Payton Gullion.  Kaeden Bevolo added 7 as the Cats had a disappointing performance in their final game before the Salem Invitational Tournament tips off beginning Wednesday night.

Central put 3 in double figures led by Bryce Wieter with 15, Ryker Hegger added 13 and Ryder Burgmeier had 11.

Also in the Cahokia, Columbia is still undefeated in the league with their 76-28 win over Wood River and Roxana is right behind them with 1 loss after their 66-52 win over Roxana.

The Salem freshmen will play at Patoka/Odin today.

The Orphans are in action at Collinsville.

The Mt Vernon Rams will compete at the SI Classic Shootout in Althoff when they take on Belleville West.  The Rams are 15-2 and 4-1 in the South 7 after a win over Carbondale last night 59-39.  Eli Prost led Mt Vernon with 21, Dave Barnes and NaZavion Nesbit added 11 and Lucas Shelby Jr added 9.

Also last night, Altamont beat North Clay in overtime 65-64, Carlyle over Pana 75-56, St Anthony beat Mater Dei 59-52, Flora 44-41 over Hamilton County, Olney lost to Mt Carmel 65-53, Nashville over DuQuoin 65-34, Sparta beat Wesclin 69-61, Patoka/Odin lost to St Elmo/Brownstown 42-41, Waltonville over Wayne City 70-45 and Webber beat Sandoval 83-47.
