New Horizon won the championship of the North Wamac/Irvington/Grand Prairie Tournament held in Irvington with a win over Raccoon in the title game 69-36. Tournament MVP Hunter Malekovic scored 21, Braxton Martinez 19 and Asher Veller 14. John Organ had 20 for Raccoon.
Malekovic was joined on the All-Tournament Team by teammates Martinez, Veller and Beckham Bass, Organ along with Oliver Worlds and Wyatt Squib from Raccoon, St Mary/Willow Grove’s Callen Williams and Jimmy Gaston, Camden Kelly of Sandoval and Levi Monaghan of North Wamac.
St Mary/Willow Grove won the 3rd place game over Sandoval 61-21. Williams had 18 and Gaston 13 in the win while 5th grader Armani Bilberry added 11. Kelly led Sandoval with 13.
In the consolation game, it was the hosts over Ashley 47-36. Monaghan had 29 and Clayton Williams led Ashley with 21.
