The Salem Wildcats only trailed by 4 several times in the 2nd half, but Roxana hit enough shots to knock off Salem 59-47.  Logan Butts had a break out game offensively for the Cats as the big man scored 11 points and pulled down 7 rebounds.  Avery Gullion led Salem in scoring with 16, Payton Gullion and Kaeden Bevolo added 8 each with Bev pulling down 6 rebounds.  Cohen Dugan led Roxana with 22, 16 in the first half and Sean Maberry added 12.   Salem is 9-8 overall and 2-3 in the Cahokia Conference as they will host Vandalia today with the JV start around 4pm and varsity tip off at 5:30.

 

The JV earned a 60-48 victory led by sophomore Luke Boldt with a game-high 25.

 

Breese Central trailed Wood River 8-2, but then outscored the Oilers 71-10 the rest of the way to win 73-18 in Breese.  Conlan Haar had 14 and Bryce Wieter 10 in the victory.

 

Columbia beat Freeburg 61-46 and in the game, senior Eddie Smajic crossed the 1500 career point mark.
