The Salem Wildcats won their 3rd straight game as they knocked off Wood River on the road Saturday 64-28. The starters put in 3 quarters of solid work and the clock ran in the 4th.

Payton Gullion led Salem with 16 points, Avery Gullion was right behind with 15. Kaeden Bevolo had a good all-around game with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Senior leader Ryegan Warren did his best Magic Johnson impression as he dished out 7 assists.

Luke Boldt came off the bench and scored 11 as Salem improves to 6-5 overall and 2-2 in the Cahokia Conference. They will be back in action Saturday night at 7pm in the opening round of the Duster Thomas Hoops Classic in Pinckneyville when they take on the Okawville Rockets.

The Salem JV won their game 55-45. Brendan Smith led Salem with 14, Owen Tennyson added 12 and Boldt finished with 9.
