The IHSA has released its assignments for boys and girls basketball and the post season with some shake ups.

 

The Salem Wildcats are in the 2a Monticello Sectional Complex.  Regional sites are Vandalia and Robinson.  Teams will include St Anthony, Fairfield, Effingham, Flora, Hutsonville, Mt Carmel, Newton, Olney and TTown.

 

The Salem Lady Wildcats have dropped to 2a as well.  They will be part of the Sub Sectional with regional sites Eldorado and Mt Carmel and will feed into the Olney Sectional.  The sub also includes Carmi, Fairfield, Flora, Harrisburg, Hamilton County, Newton and Olney.

 

The Nashville boys Sectional Sub-A includes Columbia and Pinckneyville as regional sites and Central, Mater Dei, Freeburg, Nashville and Wesclin among others will compete.

 

The Chester 2a girls sectional will have Breese Central, Mater Dei, Columbia, Freeburg and Nashville all in the same sub sectional that will have regional hosts Central and Freeburg.

 

In 3a boys, Centralia and Mascoutah are regional sites for a powerful sub sectional that also includes Cahokia, Carbondale, East St Louis, Marion, Mt Vernon and Waterloo.  The winners advance to the Waterloo Sectional.

 

The Centralia Annies will join teams including Marion and Mt Vernon in a 3a sub-sectional that feeds into the Waterloo Sectional.  Carbondale and Centralia are regional sites.

 

In 1a girls, North Clay and Webber are regional sites for the Wayne City Sectional.  Sub-Sectional A will include Altamont, Brownstown/St Elmo, South Central, North Clay and Ramsey among others.  Sandoval is one regional site in the Sub-Sectional feeding into the Bunker Hill Sectional.  That sub will include Carlyle and Okawville.

 

The 1a boys Macon Meridian Sectional will have area teams with regional sites Altamont and North Clay.  Other teams participating include Webber, Christ Our Rock, South Central, Sandoval and Patoka/Odin.
