Salem Wildcats Tip Off Season With 2 Games From Lawrenceville
The Salem Wildcats will open up play in Lawrenceville today at the Capital Classic. They will play Lincoln High out of Vincennes at 11am and then at 6pm tonight they will play Olney. Both games can be heard on 100.1 FM and streaming at southernillinoisnow.com. Also at Lawrenceville today, the hosts and Olney will play at 12:30 and then take on Lincoln at 7:30.
The Red Hill Pool will see Red Hill and Fairfield at 11, TTown and Mt Carmel at 12:30 then tonight its Fairfield and TTown at 6 and then Red Hill and Mt Carmel at 7:30.
The tournament will conclude tomorrow with one final pool play game for Salem at 12:30 against Lawrenceville before trophy games at Lawrenceville that afternoon/evening.
Orphans Play In Hoopsgiving Semifinal Against Althoff
The Centralia Orphans are 2-0 at the Roxana Hoopsgiving Tournament and will be in the Gold Bracket tonight at 5pm as they take on former conference rival Althoff in the first semifinal followed by Staunton and University City at 6:30.
The Silver Bracket will see Civic Memorial take on Carbondale and Roxana plays Granite City.
In the Bronze Bracket, Freeburg plays Piasa Southwestern and Jerseyville takes on Marquette.
Sandoval Plays for 5th Place At Elverado
At Elverado, Sandoval will play in the 5th place game today staring at 10 am against Elverado, Johnston City takes on Cairo for 3rd place and then Crab Orchard and Galatia will be in the title game.
CORLHS Opens Martinsville Tournament Today
Christ Our Rock will open up from the Martinsville Tournament today as they take on the JV from Clinton at 3 and at 4:30 will take on Robinson. They will conclude the round robin tomorrow with a 1:30 game against Martinsville.
SC Cougars Finish Pool Play at Mulberry Grove
South Central will finish up pool play at the Mulberry Grove Turkey Tournament today with a 6:45 game against Mt Olive. The Cougars are 1-1 so far. Maryville Christian and Ramsey will play the first game of the night and Mulberry Grove and St Elmo/Brownstown will follow the SC game.
