Raccoon was the winner of the Region 6 Track Meet held at Salem Community High School on Friday. They finished with 148 points. Central City was second with 134. North Wamac was 3rd Selmaville was 4th followed by Iuka, Grand Prairie, Centralia St Mary’s, Patoka, and then New Horizon.
The North Wamac Eagles had several qualifiers for the Meet of Champions which will be hosted by Salem High School on Thursday. Zerek Koch qualified winning the 1600 in 5:36 and was 2nd in the 800m. Chance Bodine 3rd in the 800, Cedric Powe was 2nd in the hurdles, and 3rd in the 400. The Eagles 4×200 team of Gabriel Linkon, Zach Detering, Ethan Samples and Devin Konhorst was 3rd along with the 4×400 team of Konhorst, Bodine, Detering and Koch.
