The Salem Lady Wildcats honored their 5 seniors last night before falling in three tight sets to visiting Freeburg 25-21, 23-25, 14-25 as Salem is 16-10.  Congratulations to seniors Finley Puricelli, Kale Benjamin, Jordan Kessler, Morgan Kurwicki and Briana Redenbo.  The Salem JV improved to 17-3 with their 25-22, 25-20 victory to open the night.

Columbia avenged their only loss of the season as the #1 ranked Lady Eagles avenged that sole loss as they beat Breese Central on the road last night 25-21, 19-25, 25-20 to earn a share of the conference title with the Lady Cougars who came in ranked #4.  Claire Sandstrom had 15 kills as the Eagles are 25-1 while Breese falls to 20-8.

The South Central Lady Cougars dropped their NTC Tournament opener to Altamont 2-0 and will play today at 5pm against Dieterich in the consolation semifinals.

In Midland Trail Conference Tournament action, Wayne City won all 3 matches without dropping a set to Sandoval, Grayville and Patoka.

In other action, Centralia finished the South 7 undefeated as they beat visiting Mt Vernon 2-0, Flora over Eldorado, Nashville beat DuQuoin, Pinckneyville over Benton and Wesclin beat Carlyle in 3 sets.
