The Centralia Area Historical Society will celebrate its 25th anniversary on Tuesday night with a surprise restoration reveal.

The President of the organization, Jessyicka Coleman, says everyone is invited.

“This is our annual membership meeting for our museum members, to celebrate 25 years of the museum itself,” Coleman said. “Also along with that, we’re celebrating the reno reveal of the restoration of the Leber Bar floor, which is on the second floor of the museum, just adjacent to the Karchmer Room. That celebration will begin at 6 PM with a cocktail hour and ribbon cutting of sorts. There will be a celebration and discussion of the history of the museum, and a light history review of the Leber Bar, as that’s a big staple placed in that location of the museum.”

Cocktail hour with free entry begins at six.  The dinner and celebration will follow at seven.  It is free for current museum members and $35 for non-members.

A collection of Centralia history items was started by Ken Oestrich and eventually led to the purchase of the former Kohl and Meyer building on South Locust Street.

The museum highlights the city’s railroad roots, coal mining history, and vibrant community life through three immersive floors of exhibits and artifacts.  From the iconic outdoor caboose to the elegant Karchmer Room, the museum continues to serve as a hub for storytelling, education and local connection.

Guests are encouraged to dress to impress or in their best date-night attire.  Professional photos will be taken to capture the magic of the evening.
