The Salem 7/8 Coed team went 1–1 over the weekend. On Saturday, they put together a strong performance in a 5–1 win over Highland. Kayne Rhynes led the way with a hat trick, while Zane Wesselmann and Esteban Moreno each added a goal. Scoring opportunities were created by Piper Stanford, William Pittman, Gabby Gaston, and Rylan Smith, with strong defensive play from Paisley Stanford, Keagan Williams, Brooklyn Anderson, Zeke Tackitt, and Jayden Newcomb. Rhynes and Williams also came up big in goal.
On Sunday, the team fell 0–2 in a tough match at Albers. Daemion Ramirez, Williams, Pittman, and Newcomb worked hard to hold the line, showing grit and determination despite the short-handed roster. Calen Veit, Holden Etheridge, and Lilly Morris put in the work in the midfield, passing the ball up field, creating scoring opportunities. Caleb Dice had many miraculous saves in net.

The Salem 3/4 Boys Red Team picked up a 2-0 victory.
Goals came from Roman Patten and Maddox Smith, with an assist from Everett Eubank, who also created multiple scoring opportunities throughout the match. Strong defensive play was provided by Zane Smith, Roman Paddick, Collin Headley, and Liam Redenbo. The midfield was anchored by Owen Marcum, Izayah Ramirez, and Josiah Henson. In goal, Kalan Heinzmann and Atlas Cantrell combined for the clean sheet.

Salem Select U12 Girls Battle to 3–3 Draw vs. Harrisburg JV
The Salem Select U12 girls, bolstered by three 7th graders, showed grit and determination in a 3–3 tie against Harrisburg’s JV squad. Despite facing opponents as old as 7th grade, the Salem team—including players as young as 3rd grade—rose to the challenge with a strong all-around effort.
Stevie Nix powered the offense with two goals and an assist, while Nia Garden added a goal of her own. Hadleigh Belfiore set up two of the scores with sharp passing.
In goal, Hadley Michel delivered a standout performance, highlighted by a clutch penalty-kick save and several other key stops to preserve the draw.
To make the performance even more impressive, the Salem 5th, 6th, and 7th grade girls had just come off back-to-back games with the varsity squad, showing their toughness and stamina.
A huge shoutout to Addyson Nix, Piper Stanford, and Brooklyn Anderson for stepping up and leading this young team.

The Salem Select U14 team traveled to Harrisburg to take on their Varsity team in a SIMMS league friendly match. The Bobcats came out on top 1-0 with a goal from Piper Stanford, assisted by Posie Cooney. Lexi DeForest had the clean sheet in goal. It was a solid team effort by every girl on the team. Due to a variety of conflicts, Salem started the game with 12 players total and only rostered three eighth graders for the entirety of the game. A special shoutout to 5th grader AA Henseler who graciously volunteered to go from sideline spectator to player in an effort to give Salem an extra player. We love your heart and dedication ladies

The 3/4 Bobcats (White) traveled to Highland on Saturday morning and earned a well deserved 5-2 victory! A big shout out to Atlas Cantrell and Roman Patten who led the way with strong goal keeping! Kalan Heinzmann scored the season’s first hat trick (3 goals)! Jason Berry and Paxton Stanford added an additional goal each. Shoutouts go to Everett Eubank, Izayah Ramirez, and Roman Paddick for their hard work in creating turnovers as forwards.
Midfielders Owen Marcum and Zane Smith did an awesome job controlling the midfield and creating scoring opportunities. Lastly, a well deserved shout out goes to our defensive players Liam Redenbo, Truman Scott, Braydon Conner, Josiah Henson, and Collin Headley who stood strong protecting our third of the field. This team continues to show growth by working as a coordinated unit with improved passing and field awareness. Go Bobcats!

The Salem 5/6 boys rec travel team went to O’Fallon Saturday afternoon for a double header against both O’Fallon teams. Salem was able to pass the ball with pin point accuracy and defeated their opponent 5-0 in the first game. The next game was a back and forth dog fight that saw Salem fall 2-1, bringing their overall record to 2-1-1 on the season. The boys played great in both games and will get back on the winning track next month in New Baden.

Sadie Holzhausen and Lyla Koebele both found the back of the net, with assists coming from Norah Lother and Zyley Henseler. Lucy Scott and Ellie Vincent were rock solid on defense, and goalkeepers Brilyn Moghadam, Annabelle Tucker, and Rebecca Hosie teamed up to keep the clean sheet.

Salem 5th/6th Grade Girls Stay Hot with 8–1 Victory over Highland
The Salem 5th/6th grade girls continued their winning streak with a dominant 8–1 win over Highland. Stevie Nix led the way with two goals and an assist, while Alexis Henseler added a goal and two assists to spark the offense.
Adilyn Markus, Hailee Henderson, Zyley Henseler, Nia Garden, and Brenna Lowry each netted a goal, showcasing Salem’s balanced attack. Brenna Lowry, Naomi Draper, and Briah Henseler also contributed with key assists.
Defensively, Salem held Highland in check while Stevie Nix and Parker Howe split time in goal to secure the win.

1st/2nd Coed Red left Albers today with a 5-0 win. Kaisen Cantley led the way with a hat trick, with Colt Conner and Bane Dulaney each finding the back of the net. Amelia Erlinger and Cora Fogliasso worked hard in the midfield and both had close attempts on goal. Olivia Branch, Max Dulaney, and Sawyer Howe kept most of the action away from their goal. Howe, Cantley, and B. Dulaney shared time in goal. Great job, Bobcats!
