The Salem Wildcats got back to .500 on the season as they opened their final year in the Cahokia Conference with a dominant 56-0 win over East Alton Wood River at Jim Finks Field.
The Wildcats had a huge first half taking a 49-0 lead after the opening two quarters. Salem dominated on both sides of the ball with touchdowns from Trey Clark, Brody Collier, Caeden Miraglia and Angel Salgado in the opening half. Clark would finish with 3 touchdowns.
Drew Greene rushed for nearly 100 yards and a touchdown all in the second half. The defense did have to come up with a big stop when the Oilers had it first and goal from the 3 yard line late in the game, but failed to score to remain scoreless on the season. They have been outscored this year 208-0. Salem is back at home for Homecoming next week when they host Roxana.
Also in the Cahokia, Breese Central routed Freeburg 49-0 and Columbia got past Roxana 34-28.
