The Salem Wildcats won their 10th straight game, shutting out Wesclin 9-0 at the Salem Soccer Complex.  Wesclin’s defender received a red-card for intentional hand ball in the box and the Warriors were forced to play with only 10 players for all but 2 minutes of the game.  Salem’s Eli Baker scored 5 goals and assisted on 2 more.  He has 31 goals in 11 games this year.  Caleb Purintun added 2 goals, Robby Shober scored and senior Kyler Sapp scored his first ever goal.  Salem will take their 10-1 record to Massac County tomorrow to take on the 10-0-and-1 Patriots.

The Salem JV won their first game of the year 7-0 with Kam Rasul scoring 4 times.

Columbia stayed undefeated in the Cahokia by overcoming a 2-0 deficit and beating Freeburg in Penalty Kicks.

Also in soccer play, Mater Dei beat Granite City 3-0, Carlyle lost to Lebanon 6-0, Vandalia fell to North Mac 2-1 and Waterloo 1-0 over Mascoutah.
