The 3-1 Salem Wildcats soccer team will play their first ever match at the Salem Soccer Complex this afternoon at 4pm when they host a very good Highland Bulldogs squad. Highland gave Salem one of their 3 losses a year ago. Highland is 4-0 coming in having just won the Carlinville Kickoff Classic.
Also in prep soccer yesterday, Centralia lost to Mater Dei 3-1, Carlyle 8-3 over Valmeyer, Effingham shutout St Anthony 9-0, Roxana lost to Gibault 1-0, Jerseyville 2-1 over Wesclin, Piasa shutout Wood River 7-0 and Marion lost to Sikeston, Missouri 1-0.
