The Franklin Park Lady Bobcats dropped a 13-1 decision in their home opener to DuQuoin. Kaylee Carroll had 2 hits for Salem. Adding hits were Brinn Detmer, Bre Pennypacker and Emma Hawley.
Also in softball action, North Clay lost to Cisne 14-4, Dieterich shutout Ramsey 13-0, Nashville over Woodlawn 6-1 and Summersville shutout OLMC 13-0.
