Centralia Police say they have now arrested two of six juveniles being sought
for robbery and mob action for allegedly taking the phone and beating a 16-
year-old Centralia male juvenile last month.
Police report the victim was originally approached by two male juveniles
while walking in the 1100 block of South Walnut on April 24th. Three more
juveniles then came out of an alley. The victim was accused of stealing a
cell phone and 'hitting' on the cousin of one of the group.
The five then allegedly grabbed the victim, went through his pockets, and
grabbed his cell phone. While the victim was down, a sixth juvenile, a
female, allegedly kicked him in the ribs.
An unknown bystander reportedly broke up the beating, but the group left
with the victim's phone. The victim went to the police station the next day
to report the incident. Police confirmed bruising to his face and body, but he
did not require hospital treatment.
One of the group was picked up on May 8th, with a second taken into
custody on Sunday. The 15-year-old picked up on Sunday was held
pending a Monday court hearing.
Centralia Police say they continue to look for the other four.
