The Salem 14U Wildcats traveled to South Central for a double headers on Sunday and came away with a pair of wins.
Rhett Detering and Heydin Purcell lead the way at the plate and on the hill. Both had 3 RBI games. Aden Bass was 2-3, and hits from Deytin Parker, Cooper, Lobek, Luke Young, Kolsyn Quinn and Colton Shelton. Down 5-3 going into the final inning, the Wildcats scored 14 times to put the game away. Purcell and Detering combined for the win byt striking out eight.
In the second game, Salem prevailed 9-7. Ayden Rose had a two RBI single. Rhett Detering, Heydin Purcell, and Colten Starnes each doubled. Singles were provided by Aden Bass and Cooper Lobek. Luke Young and Ayden Rose combined for the win by scattering four hits and striking out five.
The 14U Wildcats move to 4-0 and play Effingham next weekend.
