A new Salem Police Officer was sworn in by Mayor Nic Farley during Monday night’s city council meeting. Newly hired Eli Cox is from the Vandalia area. Cox has already completed the six-week mandated training at Southwestern Illinois Community College at Belleville. He has now started the field training portion of his training
