The Salem 12u travel Wildcats baseball team opened their season last night at the Carlyle Tournament. Leading 1-0 with Salem hitting in the top of the 3rd inning, the lightning caused the postponement of the game until today at 1pm. Salem scored their run in the top of the first inning. Payton Gullion led the season off with a single up the middle and after stealing 2nd and reaching 3rd on a Landon Maxey single, he would score on an Aaden Rostance groundout. Maxey was the starting pitcher working 2 innings allowing no hits, no walks and 4 strikeouts.
The 16u SuperSonics are in action this weekend at Decatur.
The Salem 14u Wildcats will open up the Olney Tournament with a pair of games today.
