The Selmaville Grade School Board has set eighth-grade promotion and the final day of school.

Superintendent Robin Brooks says eighth-grade graduation will be on Thursday evening, May 13th, at seven pm.  He reports their intent is to hold an inside ceremony in the gym with at least the parents present.  A Livestream would be set p to allow others to watch.  Brooks says the final decision on how graduation will look will be dependent on COVID-19 restrictions in place at the time.

The school board also set the final day of student attendance for Wednesday, May 19th.    The year will conclude with a teacher’s workshop on May 20th.

In other action, the board hired Mallory Crouse as a 2nd-grade teacher for the coming school year.

Brooks is pleased with how e-learning went during the snowstorm.  He says students were receptive and parents very supportive.   Selmaville has been one of the few schools that have not had to go to remote learning due to COVID-19 issues.
