Coach Lee Bennett notched his 400th win (400-118) at Centralia leading the Orphans to a 65-35 win over visiting Jerseyville last night. Overall, Bennett has a record of 679-238 losses as Centralia improves to 6-1 on the season ahead of Friday’s showdown with Mt Vernon.
South Central fell to 5-2 with a 64-44 loss to Vandalia. Seth Bergmann led SC with 11, Weston Neilson finished with 10. Vandalia won the JV game and the night began with SC winning the fresh/soph contest.
Tonight, Sandoval will travel to Waltonville for a rare boys basketball conference game on a Wednesday. The Blackhawks were 2nd at the Elverado Tournament this season while Waltonville is ranked #3 in the state in Class 1a.
