A 29-year-old Salem woman was taken to the Marion County Jail on Friday on an outstanding felony failure to appear warrant and a new charge of possession of methamphetamine. Salem Police say they stopped Onnica Wimberly of Quail Run Road when spotting her walking Friday afternoon in the 100 block of East Boone because they knew she was wanted on the warrant. She was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine. The warrant was in a pending possession of meth case.
40-year-old Corey Irvin of Illinois Street in Salem posted a $100 bond and was released after being arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies on a Marion County failure to appear warrant on a retail theft conviction.
27-year-old Steven Whittaker of Lake Road in Carlyle turned himself in on a traffic failure to appear warrant. He posted a $150 bond and was released.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a burglary to a barn in the 5200 block of Basom Road in rural Salem. A compound bow was reported missing. it is believed to have been taken Thursday night or early Friday morning.
