2023 Centralia grad Makensie Pearson, opened up her sophomore track season with Carthage College as they hosted their home Forever Red Alumni Classic over the weekend. The Firebirds won the meet scoring 120.5 points with Wisconsin Parkside and Wheaton rounding out the top 3. Pearson scored points for her team finishing 4th in the shot throwing it 12.43 meters and 3rd in the weight throw with a distance of 13 meters, both were PR’s for her.
Last year as a freshman, Pearson competed in 13 meets during the indoor and outdoor seasons… Threw three career bests in the hammer throw, shot put, discus throw, and weight throw reaching 39.69m, 11.94m, 33.31m, and 13.30m.
Not only is Makensie doing her thing on the track, but also in the classroom. She is double majoring in English and criminal justice
