The Kinmundy lighted Christmas parade attracted more than 20 entries to highlight a day of activities.
Mayor Angie Diss is appreciative of all those who participated.
“It was awesome. It just keeps getting better every year,” Diss said. “Businesses, churches, FFA, South Central’s band was in the parade this year. We just had a little mix of everything.”
The winners were the Tony Wimberly family for best theme, the Woodard family for most lighted, Wabash Valley Produce most creative, Kinmundy Christian Church best group, the Dining Car best theme-other entry, South Central Band for best musical group. The FFA won for best costume not on a float for three walking characters. Shoreline Aquatics won for Best Children’s entry. The float contained a number of blow-up Christmas Characters.
After Santa and Mrs. Claus stepped from their float at the end of the parade, they were greeted by a long line of children who wanted to talk with them before begin given a gift.
Earlier in the day, Kinmundy held a vendor fair and a nativity scene was held at the Log Cabin Village.
