The Mount Vernon Lady Rams earned a road win at #1 Effingham last night 53-50. Pollard led the way with 20, Zedalis 14 and Shirley 10. The Lady Rams improve to 5-1 while Effingham drops to 6-1. Mt Vernon will take on Mt Carmel in the SSM Health/WMIX Shootout tomorrow at 2:15.
The Salem Lady Wildcats fell to 5-2 overall and 0-1 in the Cahokia Conference falling to Breese Central in Clinton County 59-22. The Lady Cats are right back in action tomorrow when they travel to Hillsboro before hosting Mattoon Monday night on WJBD. Also in the Cahokia last night, Columbia beat Wood River 70-21.
South Central fell to Webber 70-43. In the win for Webber, Knight scored 32 and King added 26. Kennah Hiestand led SC with 10, Perci Reid and Baylee Brown had 9 each.
Sandoval beat Wayne City/Cisne 44-36 behind 22 from Amiya Ray. Alayna Ray added 12. Sandoval is 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the MTC.
The Centralia Annies beat down Herrin 52-19.
