The Kaskaskia Theater Department presents “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” this weekend. This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life on one fateful Christmas Eve.
The Shows director, Nathan Young explains, ” It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, by Joseph Landry. Which takes the classic story of, It’s A Wonderful Life, which many people are very familiar with, and is near and dear to a lot of people’s hearts. A very classic heartwarming Christmas story, but retells it in an interesting and novel way.”
The showings for “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” are this weekend, December 6th, 7th, and 8th with shows all at seven. There is a matinee on the 7th at 3 pm. Also, you don’t need to worry about paying, because the show is free! However, you must have a ticket. Tickets are available at eventbrite.com through Kaskaskia College, or at the front door of show nights.
