The Marion County Health Department says there were no deaths and just 17 positive cases of the coronavirus reported over the past five days. All are from community spread. None were long-term care residents and two were students. One was not at school during their infectious period while the other was homeschooled.
The health department reports 44 people are still in isolation. Nine of those are in the hospital and one is on a ventilator. A total of 3,993 are reported as recovered.
The Clinton County Health Department is reporting 12 new positive cases over the weekend and Monday and Tuesday. There are currently 143 who are on home isolation and nine are hospitalized.
The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting six new cases for Tuesday and Wednesday. 42 are currently on isolation.
The Washington County Health Department reported one new case for the past two days. There are currently 13 active cases and one hospitalized.
The Fayette County Health Department has had eight new cases since last Friday.
The Wayne County Health Department is reporting six new cases in the past two days with 31 isolating.
Statewide, 1,795 new cases and 24 additional deaths were reported on Wednesday. The seven-day positivity rate is now at 2.8-percent. The Southern Illinois Region positivity is at 2.7-percent. The rate is eight-tenths of a percent in Marion County. The Metro-East Region is at 4.5-percent positivity. The East Central Illinois Region is at 3.5-percent.
