A horse pulling a heater out of a water trough into some hay is believed to have started a fire that damaged a barn in Iuka late Saturday morning.
The fire occurred at a barn owned by Wayne Moore at Middleton and Hester Streets.
Iuka Fire Chief Kenny Eagan says the fire was spotted quickly by the owner. Firemen were able to quickly knock down the fire in the hay. There was damage to some of the boards on one side of the barn that burned, but there was no structural damage.
The fire call came in at 11:40 Saturday morning. Firemen were on the scene for about an hour. Salem Firemen responded on automatic mutual aid.
