The Salem Lady Wildcats will continue play at the DuQuoin Tournament tonight with a pool play game against Christopher at 6pm on WJBD. Salem won their opening game in dominant fashion over Murphysboro while Christopher fell to DuQuoin in their first game.
Former Salem Lady Wildcats Hailey Gregg is now the head basketball coach at North Clay. She opened her prep coaching career with a 60-50 win over Oblong. They return to action tomorrow when they host South Central.
The SC Lady Cougars opened with a 54-49 win over Martinsville. Addie Conant led SC with 14, Bailee Brown added 13 and Perci Reid finished with 12.
The Centralia Annies opened up their season with a road win at Belleville Althoff 45-36.
Also last night, Carbondale beat Anna 62-31, Carlyle over Belleville East 61-57, Collinsville routed Cahokia 88-4, Olney over Pana 54-24, Vandalia beat Altamont 53-46, St Anthony over Dieterich 62-42.
