The Althoff Crusaders cruised their way to the Class 1a semifinals with a 54-7 blowout of Casey Westfield. They will host their semifinal next weekend against Camp Point Central. Lena Winslow will travel to LeRoy in the other semi.
In 2a, Johnston City beat Pana 28-13 and will host Maroa Forsyth next week. Chicago Christian will host Farmington.
In 3a, Benton scored in overtime and went for two, but came up short as Monticello held on 27-26. Tolono Unity ended Nashville’s season 47-24. Next week, Wilmington is at Montini and Tolono goes to Monticello.
In 4a, Mt Zion went to Breese and handed Central their only loss of the year 17-3. They will travel to Normal U-High next week after their win over Cahokia 31-12. DePaul will travel to Coal City.
In 5a, Morris will travel to Joliet Catholic in semifinal action while Wheaton St Francis is at Nazareth Academy.
In 6a, East St Louis blew out Chatham Glenwood 45-14 and will host Oak Lawn Richards in the semifinal. Cary Grove is at Geneva.
In 7a semifinal play next week, Mt Carmel is at St Rita, Batavia goes to Lincoln Way Central.
In 8a, Loyola Academy is at Lincoln Way East, York goes to Naperville Central.
