The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting another COVID-19 related death in Clinton County.  The male in his 70s is the 86th death in the county since the pandemic began.    The 20 total deaths around the state also included one death apiece in St. Clair, Madison, and Monroe Counties all in the Metro-East.

A total of 2,082 new cases were reported around the state.

The Marion County Health Department is not releasing a report on Tuesday.

The Clinton County Health Department is reporting 12 new positive cases.  There are currently 250 in isolation and nine who are hospitalized.

The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting nine new cases and 93 currently in isolation.

Wayne County is reporting 13 new cases on Monday and Tuesday.  Fayette County has one new case on Tuesday and Clay County one new case on Monday.

The statewide seven-day positivity rate remains at 3.3-percent.   The Southern Illinois Region is at 3.8-percent, which is down three-tenths of a percent from Monday.   The Metro-East Region is down two-tenths of a percent to 5.7-percent.  The East Central Illinois region is at 3.6-percent for the third day in a row.

Marion County’s seven-day positivity rate is at 1.5-percent for the second day in a row.

A total of 1,417,156 vaccines have been administered in Illinois as of Monday night, including 216,522 for long term care facilities.   3,778 vaccinations have been completed in Marion County with 873 fully vaccinated, or 2.32 percent of the population.   That’s just under the 2.45-percent fully vaccinated rate for Illinois as a whole.
