A 23-year-old Effingham man has died in a car-semi crash on Fayette Avenue at the I-57 interchange in Effingham.
State Police say Logan Dallape was traveling eastbound on Fayette Avenue when he attempted to make a left turn onto the northbound entrance ramp to Interstate 57. A semi driven by 46-year-old Tyron Hurst of Wentzville was traveling westbound through the stop light intersection and collided with Dallape. The semi then traveled off the road, struck a guard rail and stopped in the right ditch.
Dallape was pronounced dead on the scene. Hurst was not injured.
The crash occurred at 7:47 Monday night.
