The Franklin Park JV and Varsity Bobcats played at the Marion Tipoff Classic on Saturday. The varsity went 2-1 on the day. They opened with a 37-29 win over Herrin. Owen Tennyson led Salem with 12 and Bentley Bryan added 9. Salem then beat Belleville Central 44-40. Tennyson had 19 and Zane Applegate added 10. Salem then played Marion in the title game and lost 37-20. Tennyson had 7 and Liam Shober 6 in the loss.
The JV opened with a 30-27 win over Herrin. Ben Lux had 9 in the win, EJ Wolfe and Tanner Purintun had 5 each. Salem then lost to Belleville Central 21-20. Kaiden Washington had 6 and five each from Wolfe and Lux. Salem ended the day with a 53-41 win over Pontiac. Washington and Wolfe had 16 each with Lux adding 12.
