The regional finals were played last night in IHSA prep volleyball.
The Centralia Annies season came to an end losing in the 3a regional finals at Mascoutah to the hosts 25-14, 25-16.
Also in 3a, Effingham won the Civic Memorial title over the hosts, Taylorville beat Rochester at MacArthur, Triad beat Charleston in three sets at Olney, Mt Zion lost to Normal at Rantoul.
In 2a, Mater Dei beat the host Lady Cougars at Breese Central 25-16, 25-12. Columbia won their regional at home in 3 sets over Nashville 25-19, 24-26, 25-22.
Also, Carlinville won at home beating Pana, Carmi at home beat Mt Carmel, Carterville lost to Pinckneyville at home, Staunton beat Shelbyville at Litchfield, Massac County won the Harrisburg title over DuQuoin including winning 29-27 in the 3rd set. Newton at home beat Fairfield.
In 1a, Edwards County won at home over Wayne City, Nokomis beat the hosts at St Anthony, Oblong beat Casey at Hutsonville, Windsor/Stew-Stras won the Kansas title over Chrisman, Okawville beat Marissa at Lebanon, Sesser Valier beat Webber at Woodlawn and Trico over Cobden at Zeigler.
In 4a, O’Fallon won the Collinsville Regional beating Quincy and Belleville West beat the hosts at Edwardsville.
