The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting two new COVID-19 related deaths in South Central Illinois on Thursday.  They include a male in his 50s in Jefferson County and a male in his 80s in Wayne County.   A female in her 70s also passed away in Effingham County.   The deaths were among 69 reported around the state.

There were another 3,328 new cases of COVID-19 reported around the state.

The Marion County Health Department did not release an update for Thursday.

The Clinton County Health Department reported 35 new cases.  227 are currently in isolation and seven are hospitalized.

The Jefferson County Health Department reported 17 new cases.  168 are currently in isolation.

The Fayette County Health Department reported five new cases on Thursday.

The Clay County Health Department is reporting six new positive cases for Wednesday and Thursday.

The Wayne County Health Department reported five new cases on Wednesday.

The statewide positivity rate is now 3.4-percent for the past week.  The Southern Illinois Region is at 4.7-percent.   The Metro-East Region fell another four-tenths of a percent to 6.1-percent on the day they moved to Phase Four after three days of hospital ICU bed availability being at or above 20-percent.  The East Central Illinois Rate is at 4.4-percent.   Marion County’s seven day positivity rate is down to 2.4-percent.
